As well as having the best mountain bike competitions in the world, Scotland also offers one of the best mountain bike playgrounds. It’s got fantastic natural terrain and a huge network of footpaths, drove roads and forest roads in some of Europe’s wildest and most spectacular locations. Together with an enlightened attitude to countryside access (you can go pretty much anywhere as long as you respect certain fundamental rules) it’s a great place to get on your bike.
The Forestry Commission’s mountain bike trail centres have a huge reputation and have contributed to Scotland’s “Global Superstar” status in the annual IMBA (International Mountain Bike Association) report.
Why not extend your visit to the World Cup and have some fun on these top trails.
