Parking and Shuttle bus

Fort William Long Stay Car Parks

During the World Cup, a park and ride system operates. The buses are free and run on Saturday and Sunday. Please note that campervans/motorhomes, or any vehicle adapted for sleeping in are only permitted between 08.00 – 21.00 hours, in the Councils Long Stay Car Parks in Fort William (i.e. West End, An Aird No.1 & An Aird No.2) – please support the local campsites.  Parking at the Rural Complex will cost £5 (cash only).

Parking Information

There will be no spectator parking in the Nevis Range car park which will be taken over by the World Cup Village on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

There will be a £5 charge to park at the Rural Complex (postcode PH33 6SQ), on the Nevis Range access road, about 1km from the World Cup Village, on Saturday and Sunday and a £3 charge on Friday. A footpath takes you straight to the World Cup Village and there will be a limited shuttle bus for the very old, very young or infirm.

The main Park and Ride (free parking) is at Blar Mor, just outside Fort William on the A830 Mallaig road.  When the parking at the Rural Complex is full you will be directed to Blar Mor, so look out for specific signage. The Blar Mor Park and Ride is supported by Highland Council.

Shuttle buses will operate from the Park and Ride to the World Cup Village. There is also public parking in Fort William itself – at An Aird and the West End car parks. This parking is subject to normal rates (£2 per day, Sunday free). Please take note of signs advising when car parks are full and follow the directions of Police, Traffic Wardens and our own Parking Stewards.

Shuttle Bus System.
In 2019 we will continue to provide a free shuttle bus system.

Free shuttle buses will operate on 3 routes. The service runs on Saturday and Sunday only. All shuttle buses will be clearly marked and will run continuously until all spectators have left the World Cup Village after racing.

Shuttle bus Route 1 – Town Centre: Starts at West end of the High Street (pick up: opposite the former Police Station), behind WH Smiths on Middle Street, then the service stops between Ellis Brigham and the Lochaber Leisure Complex and opposite Nevis Bank Hotel near Glen Nevis roundabout.

Shuttle bus Route 2 – Blar Mor Park & Ride: Free Park and Ride courtesy of Highland Council. There is a feeder shuttle between Corpach, Banavie and Blar Mor with a number of marked stops.

Shuttle bus Route 3 – Spean Bridge: Pick up at service stop on A82 between the Spean Bridge Hotel and the Bridge Cafe. Important: There is no dedicated World Cup parking in Spean Bridge itself. This service is for overnight visitors and the local community who can walk to the bus stop.
