Loïc and Tahnée in pole position after Maribor.

The return to Maribor delivered a great opener for the 2019 UCI Mercedes-Benz Mountain Bike World Cup.
Reigning World Champion Loïc Bruni (FRA) narrowly edged it over Danny Hart (GBR), Troy Brosnan (AUS) and Charlie Harrison (USA). The top 4 were separated by less than a second.
Other top performing Brits were Matt Walker (5th), Laurie Greenland (9th) and Reece Wilson (12th).
In the women’s race Tahnée Seagrave (GBR) put down a marker with the win 0.85s ahead of Rachel Atherton (GBR) and Tracey Hannah (AUS) in 3rd. Katy Curd was the next Brit in 15th.
So the scene is set for another Battle Royal on the slopes of Aonach Mor, with some intense racing guaranteed after an incredibly competitive start to the season.
